The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie is currently filming, and turns out the set isn’t exactly secure. Eager fans have been filming the cast in character, leading to spoiler-y scenes with Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah circulating around TikTok. As a result, the show’s official Instagram released a statement asking fans for privacy as production on the movie continues.

“We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew,” they wrote. “We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”

The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie was announced back in September 2025, and author Jenny Han said, “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

FYI, this isn’t the first time The Summer I Turned Pretty has had to release a statement directly to viewers. Ahead of season 3, the show asked fans not to engage in hate speech, doxxing, or any harassment, writing “Cousins is our safe place. Everything good, everything magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer.”

They went on to lay out community guidelines including no “hate speech or bullying,” no “targeting our cast or crew,” and finally, absolutely no “harassing or doxxing members of the community.” Any user that breaks one of these rules will be banned.
