The 114th General Assembly adjourned for 2026, and it was a very successful year. We have taken measures for Tennessee to be a better place to live, work and to raise a family.
Here are some of the highlights.
Protected consumers from hidden fees and strengthening privacy
- We passed legislation to crack down on hidden fees and require upfront price transparency for online purchases.
- The lawtargets “drip pricing,” ensuring consumers see the full cost before buying concert tickets, booking travel or other purchases online.
- Strengthens privacy protections for biometric data, including information used in facial recognition.
- Protects taxpayers by limiting costly and overly broad legal demands on state agencies.
- Bottom line: this law promotes transparency, protects personal data, and ensures consumers keep more of their hard-earned money.
Increased transparency in hotel booking fees
