Hamilton Police say they have been made aware of a cybersecurity incident involving Navigate360, the TIP management software provider behind the P3 platform used by Crime Stoppers organizations across Canada.

According to information shared with Hamilton Police, Crime Stoppers of Hamilton has reported that its system may have been impacted as part of a broader security issue affecting the platform operated under contract with the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association.

Crime Stoppers of Hamilton says it has requested a detailed report from Navigate360 in order to determine the scope and impact of the breach.

The organization also noted that Navigate360 has advised the system remains secure and that additional security measures have since been implemented.

Police emphasize that Crime Stoppers software operates independently, and is not connected to internal systems used by the Hamilton Police Service.

At this time, officials are directing any further inquiries to the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association.
