Pigs will fly before Apple prematurely spills the beans about its rumored “iPhone Fold,” but there are clues that Apple’s first foray into the foldable market is right around the corner. At WWDC 2026, the Cupertino tech giant unveiled a sprawling suite of new features, mostly concerning iOS 27 and the next-generation Siri—and a few of them foreshadow that flexible Apple hardware is in our future.

For context, there have been whispers that Apple is working on a book-like foldable, à la the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, slated for a September 2026 release alongside the iPhone 18. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone Fold is expected to beat competitors in screen quality and durability. Plus, the foldable’s display will reportedly have a “less visible” crease. Of course, the Apple tax will be high for this bendy iPhone; the price is expected to surpass $2,000.

While Apple is leaving us parched for details on the iPhone Fold speculation, WWDC 2026 leaked droplets of evidence that allude to its existence.

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, pivoted his attention to developers in the WWDC 2026 keynote, explaining that an all-new Device Hub lets you dynamically resize apps and simulate different screen configurations. This suggests that Apple is preparing developers for hardware that won’t be confined to a traditional, single-screen form factor.
