DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) – Federal funds are bringing new tech to Decatur County to help deputies out in the field.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office received a $15k grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase new crash tracking technology.
Officials said the system will allow deputies to file and upload accident reports electronically while also noting problem areas in the county.

DCSO also purchased mobile printers and digital license scanners for crash scenes or routine traffic stops.
Officials said the advanced tech allows deputies to close out calls quickly and efficiently in the field.
Lt. McClanahan said the tech has been installed in every patrol car and deputies have already started using it.
