The Google Health app is getting a major update, bringing new features and welcome fixes. We knew this update was coming, but it’s still good to see it go live, especially because it does so much to enhance the experience. The update will begin rolling out today, and will come in as version 5.01.
We can’t wait to get our hands on it
The update was spotted by 9to5Google, with the news outlet highlighting all the changes coming to the app. If you’re not seeing it yet, you’ll need to be patient, as Google also states that the update will roll out to all users over the next couple of weeks.
This update will be available for Android and iOS users. And while there are a lot of improvements over the previous version, we like that food logs from major apps like MyFitnessPal and LoseIt will now display the meal type correctly.
Custom Foods can now be viewed and logged into the app, so long as they have already been created previously. Google shares that adding new custom food options is “coming soon.”
The update also improves the look of charts, correctly labels workouts, and ensures “improved loading states for maps from GPS exercises.” Sleep Scores should now show up for all users, and the Today feed on Android should now show up-to-date information.
Naturally, there’s a lot more to this update, and you can check out the details verbatim down below.
