Android Auto beta version 17.0.162144 has a new feature that should have existed years ago. Users can now swipe between active media app cards to switch what’s playing — no manual app opening, no hunting through menus. It’s currently beta-only but looks close to stable release.
Right now, switching media sources on Android Auto requires opening the target app manually and hitting play. That changes with this update.
