The Flipkart Summer Sale starting May 9 is expected to bring major discounts on popular iPhones, including the latest Apple iPhone 17 series and the older Apple iPhone 16 lineup. With iPhones among the most sought-after sale purchases, buyers may want to add their preferred models to carts early before deals run out or stocks become limited.
If you are planning to buy a new iPhone during the Flipkart Summer Sale, both the Apple iPhone 17 and Apple iPhone 16 are set to receive major discounts. The newer iPhone 17 will reportedly be available for Rs 71,999 for the 256GB model, down from Rs 82,900, while the iPhone 16 could drop to Rs 58,900 from Rs 69,900. Buyers may also get additional savings through bank offers, cashback deals, exchange bonuses, and no-cost EMI options.

In terms of design, both iPhones follow a similar premium look with an aluminium and glass body along with a dual rear camera setup. However, the iPhone 17 comes with a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, compared to the 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 16. The newer model also brings a smoother 120Hz ProMotion display and up to 3000 nits peak brightness, whereas the iPhone 16 sticks to a 60Hz Liquid Retina panel with 2000 nits brightness.
Performance is another major difference between the two devices. The iPhone 17 is powered by Apple’s newer A19 chip, which is expected to deliver faster and more efficient performance compared to the A18 processor on the iPhone 16. This could make the iPhone 17 a better choice for gaming, multitasking, and future software support.
For photography and battery life, the iPhone 17 again appears to have an edge. It features a 48MP main camera paired with a 48MP ultrawide sensor, while the iPhone 16 offers a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
