CIPP/US Privacy course offered at the Annual Florida Bar Convention

Members of The Florida Bar will have the opportunity to strengthen their understanding of data privacy law through an exclusive U.S. Private-Sector Privacy (CIPP/US) certification prep course offered in conjunction with the Annual Florida Bar Convention and hosted by the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Committee.

The two-day training, presented by Privacy Ref, will take place June 15-16 at the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation in U.S. privacy laws, regulations, and frameworks, while preparing participants for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP/US certification exam.

The program will cover key data protection laws and regulations, as well as the legal requirements governing the transfer of sensitive personal data between the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions. The CIPP/US credential is widely recognized as demonstrating a strong grounding in U.S. privacy law and remains one of the leading certifications in the field.

The course will be led by veteran privacy expert Bob Siegel, who brings more than 30 years of experience in consumer privacy and information security. Siegel holds multiple IAPP certifications and has been recognized as a fellow of Information Privacy.

Registration includes two full days of instruction, course materials in both electronic and printed formats, and a one-year IAPP membership. Participants will also receive a voucher to sit for the certification exam and access to a certification study group. An optional refresher course is available for those who do not pass the exam on their first attempt.
