Child Pornography Found on D4vd’s iPhone Is Key Evidence in Murder Case, Prosecutors Reveal | News

Child sexual abuse material recovered from D4vd‘s iPhone is among the key evidence Los Angeles County prosecutors say they will present against the singer, who stands accused of killing and dismembering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
At a hearing Thursday morning — one year to the day after Celeste was last seen alive going to D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home — Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman told a judge that evidence against the singer includes “a significant amount of child pornography” on his iPhone, as well as a wiretap and up to 40 terabytes of data obtained by law enforcement, per CNN. According to CBS News Los Angeles, the CSAM was recovered from Burke’s iCloud account.
“We’re eager to set a trial date,” Silverman said in court. Under California law, child pornography evidence can’t be obtained without following a specific court protocol, she noted. The DA’s office has begun handing over investigative findings to D4vd’s defense team, which said Monday they had received “almost no discovery” related to the case. The preliminary hearing — at which a judge will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to move forward with trial — was postponed to May 1 at the defense’s request.
The Autopsy
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report, released Wednesday after being sealed at law enforcement’s request since December, details the physical horror of what happened to Celeste. She died of “multiple penetrating injuries” consistent with stabbing. Wounds on her chest and abdomen “may represent sharp force injuries.” Her arms and legs were severed. Two fingers on her left hand had been removed. Blue plastic fragments were “embedded in the cut surfaces” of her remains, according to the report.
A tattoo reading “Shhh….” was found on the inside of her right index finger — similar to a tattoo D4vd has on his own finger.
