Dummy photos give best look yet at Apple’s Foldable iPhone design

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 is in the corner, and the clearest picture yet of Apple’s first foldable iPhone has arrived via dummy unit mockups shared by leaker Sonny Dickson.

The leaks reveals a 7.8-inch inner display, a passport-style closed form factor, Touch ID in place of Face ID, and a launch colour range that may be limited to just white.

What to expect from the Apple foldable iPhone design?

Reportedly, when opened up, the foldable iPhone expands to reveal an inner screen that’s roughly 7.8 inches, similar to the size of an iPad mini, with the front camera located at the top left corner.

The outer screen is roughly 5.5 inches, while the phone’s dimensions in its folded form make it considerably more squat than your average iPhone.

The rear camera array comprises two cameras on the back of the device. There is no Face ID functionality since the iPhone Fold features a Touch ID sensor incorporated within the power button.

Bloomberg had earlier reported that the foldable device would be offered in black and white colours. According to Dickson, the device might even be launched in one colour, namely white.

Notably. this is actually in line with Apple’s past practice when it comes to introducing new products for the very first time.

There was not an option between different colours when the initial iPhone and the iPad models were introduced, but the choice of colours came with the second generation.

In 2017, the iPhone X had been made available in just two colours. Even the new iPhone 17 Pro of this year offers three options from the previous four.
