Apple’s rumored iPhone Fold might be closer than expected. Based on the latest leaks, in the form of purported 3D CAD render files sourced from well-known leaker Sonny Dickson on X, revealing its potential design. What the iPhone Fold CAD renders reveal about the device
According to leaked CAD renders, the iPhone Fold is reported to open into a wider, book-style tablet format, unlike other foldable smartphones on the market. In comparison, most foldables right now are tall when shut and appear square when unfolded. The new iPhone Fold layout is intended for a lot of things. Based on reports, this new design could make perfect sense from an ecosystem perspective, as it could allow the device to run iPadOS applications natively without forcing developers to rewrite their software for a completely new screen size.
Furthermore, the renders also showcase a horizontal dual-camera platform rather than the usual triple-lens setup we usually see on Apple’s premium tier. That said, the outer frame shown in the CADs features standard rounded corners on the device’s outer edges, but they appear squared off near the central folding hinge.
