Schibsted privacy fee attracts Norwegian data protection complaint
The Norwegian Consumer Council said it is filing a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority about Schibsted’s decision to require payment for privacy protection. Schibsted, which owns newspapers including VG, Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende and Stavanger Aftenblad, has introduced a NOK 49 payment for readers to avoid tracking and surveillance-based marketing.
