While it’s easy for anyone to adjust app colors or tweak Liquid Glass transparency, there’s a special trick that will give your phone a special animated wallpaper that appears whenever your phone is connected to power. No, I’m not talking about a secret lock screen or hidden feature buried deep in your menu settings. These wallpapers include cool animations that literally give your device a new personality when plugged into power, and all you need is a specific free app to enable them — here’s how to get and set up charging animations on your iPhone.

Unless you’re savvy with animations, I find it much easier to acquire my animated wallpapers from third-party apps. The one I got my charging animation from is called charging play (no caps), and it was free to download from the App Store. Free usually means ad-supported, and it’s true that you’ll have to watch a couple of videos in exchange for downloading its animation screens.
