Earlier this month, MLT Aikins was pleased to sponsor a Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce-hosted dialogue about Canada’s generative AI strategy with the Honourable Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation. As key voices in this important conversation, MLT Aikins Technology, IP and Privacy lawyers Danielle Graff and Nicolas Joubert were invited to be part of a select group to speak with the Minister before the event in an exclusive roundtable dialogue about Canada’s technological future.
During the roundtable, Minister Solomon discussed the Federal Government’s AI for All strategy, which intends to foster Canadian innovation by protecting Canadians from the risks and harms of AI, empowering Canadians to participate in and benefit from AI and supporting globally competitive Canadian AI companies as they protect Canadian strength on an international stage. To help do our part in supporting Canadian businesses as they adopt AI tools and best practices, we’ve released a high-level survey of the generative AI landscape for stakeholders and individuals to review and have developed a practical 12-point AI checkup to help businesses build a framework for meaningful engagement with common AI-related risks.
