Senator Josh Becker to host virtual town hall on artificial intelligence and the future of work on July 16

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the workplace, raising important questions about jobs, education, worker protections, and California’s economy.

On Thursday, July 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park), Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Economic Development and Technological Innovation, will host a virtual town hall featuring leading experts from Stanford University and UCLA to discuss how AI is reshaping the workforce and what California can do to harness its benefits while protecting workers and consumers.

In addition to Senator Becker, the panel includes Dr. Bharat Chandar (Postdoctoral Researcher, Stanford Digital Economy Lab and Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence); Dr. Jane Wu (Assistant Professor of Strategy, UCLA Anderson School of Management) and Mitchell L. Stevens (Professor of Education and Sociology, Stanford University)
