Enthusiasts from the DenuvOwO and LinUwUx teams have presented a method for bypassing Denuvo protection for Linux-based operating systems. The new development allows protected games to be launched directly from user space using a specially modified Proton compatibility build. On older processors, up to and including the AMD Zen 3 architecture, users will need to additionally use a special hypervisor for this method to work correctly.

The new solution operates entirely in user space and does not require a reboot of the operating system during configuration. The initial setup process takes approximately three minutes and does not affect key security components of Linux operating systems. The method is compatible with all Nvidia and AMD GPUs and also supports Steam Deck portable gaming consoles and PS5-Linux-based operating systems.

At the moment, the developers have confirmed the successful operation of the method with 173 gaming projects, among which the project is already functioning Assassin’s Creed Black Flag ResyncedThe project’s authors are actively updating existing releases to add support for new systems and plan to publish a full compatibility list within a week. Manual configuration instructions and the necessary files have already been posted in pinned threads on the main CS RIN forum.
