Leslyn Lewis takes on new Shadow Cabinet role focused on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Government

Haldimand—Norfolk MP Leslyn Lewis has been appointed the Conservative Shadow Minister for Digital Government and Artificial Intelligence.
Lewis announced the appointment following the release of the Conservative Party’s shadow cabinet by Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre.
In a statement, Lewis said she is honoured to take on the new role, adding that artificial intelligence and digital technology are changing nearly every part of Canadian life, including the economy, national security, privacy, jobs and individual freedoms.
As shadow minister, Lewis said her priorities will include protecting Canadians’ privacy and security, holding the Liberal government accountable on digital legislation and artificial intelligence policy, supporting Canadian innovation and digital sovereignty, and promoting transparent, citizen-focused digital government services.
She also said she will work with the Conservative team on broader priorities, including affordability, crime, economic growth and Canada’s resource sector.
Lewis said she looks forward to holding the government to account while helping shape policies that ensure Canada’s digital future reflects Canadian values.
