It has been over two years since Samsung launched its first smart ring, and there were rumors that the company was planning to launch a successor in 2025. However, those rumors turned out to be false. Now, a Samsung executive has confirmed that the company is indeed working on the Galaxy Ring 2 and that it could come with some surprising features.

Galaxy Ring 2 development confirmed, could feature iPhone pairing support

In an interview with Forbes, Dr. Hon Pak, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team, confirmed that the company is actively developing the next-generation Galaxy Ring. He noted that wearable sensors across the industry are now relatively similar in terms of capabilities, so the key differentiator will be the software services built on top of the collected health data.

Currently, the Galaxy Ring can only be paired with Android devices. When asked about the possibility of iPhone compatibility in the future, Dr. Hon Pak strongly hinted that broader compatibility is being considered for the Galaxy Ring 2. While remaining diplomatic, he said, “I’m smiling but I can’t say anything. I think you’ll be very pleased with some of the releases and the upcoming news.”
