Shotcut 26.6 Released With HDR Improvements, Vulkan Display On Linux

Shotcut 26.6 is out today as the newest major feature release for this popular cross-platform, open-source video editing solution.

Shotcut 26.6 continues improving its high dynamic range (HDR) display support and dealing with HDR content from cameras to video game captures. There is now a HDR preview window with Shotcut 26.6, dynamic range data in the timeline properties, converting to HDR using its GPU processing mode, added support for HDR to Export, and other improvements.

The Shotcut 26.6 release also brings a number of improvements to its various plug-ins, the “–experimental” launch CLI option now activates the new filter UI generator, added an RNNoise audio filter, and via the display mode settings, Vulkan can now be selected on Linux.

Shotcut 26.6 also moves to using FFmpeg 8.1.2, the MLT 7.40 framework, and other dependency updates. There are also dozens of bug fixes.
