Prosus NV has developed its own version of the artificial intelligence agent OpenClaw to get around European concerns over data privacy, and will start rolling it out soon.
Euro Beinat, head of data science and AI for the Amsterdam-listed firm, said its ToqanClaw platform shares many features with OpenClaw – the popular digital assistant that can handle complex tasks such as travel bookings – but brings them into a more secure environment.
It will be rolled out to five million of its partner online food companies and restaurant partners.
The move represents a significant European alternative to advanced agent frameworks, in which AI systems operate with autonomy, as governments and businesses seek security from the data leaks and compliance risks associated with unmonitored AI agents.
“The tool is able to create agents that will make applications that are data-driven from conversational prompts,” Beinat said in an interview. “We are connecting our large commerce model behind ToqanClaw partners, which means that we can advise our partners, on things like pricing levels.”
The commerce-focused model allows ToqanClaw agents to predict inventory constraints and operational bottlenecks before they become visible to human managers. The strategy borrows from the hyper-automation playbooks of US and Chinese tech giants while maintaining strict data separation.
The firm now employs about 1,000 AI engineers, machine-learning specialists and data scientists, and the tools they build can generate returns of up to five times the investment made in them, Beinat said. – Bloomberg
