The Android 17 update started rolling out to Google Pixel phones on June 16th, with Samsung phones expected to receive the update soon. For most Pixel users, it has been fine. For a significant and growing number, it hasn’t.

The issues range of “erratic” touchscreen input, widgets disappearing and phones not connecting to 5G. One user on Google’s own Pixel support forum titled their post “Pixel June 2026 update disaster” and judging by the experiences of others, they’re not alone.

Here’s a handful of reported issues with several complaints backing them up, which devices are affected, and what you can do about each one.

This is the most widely reported new bug. Swipe up and the page scrolls down, as one Redditor explained, or “erratic random scrolling” another complained about. Other touchscreen issues appear to include screen taps registering for several seconds and dead zones where parts of the screen simply don’t respond. Affected devices include the Pixel 7, 8, 9, and 10 series.

The official Pixel Community account on Reddit advised affected users to clear the cache of the Pixel Launcher app, or reboot in safe mode. If the problem persists, Google says the issue may be a third-party app and removing them one by one to find the culprit is the best workaround.

But another Redditor found that turning off triple tap to zoom in the accessibility settings fixed some touchscreen issues, which others claimed worked on their devices too.

Workaround: Settings Apps See all apps Pixel Launcher Storage & cache Clear cache. If that doesn’t work, reboot into safe mode to see if problems persist. If they don’t, it may be a third-party app issue. Alternatively, turning off triple tap to zoom in accessibility settings may work too.
