When Samsung released the One UI 8.5 update, it included a few extra features that enhanced user privacy.
One of these new features is an ad block control for apps that send excessive ad alerts. This is (sort of) an extension of Samsung’s deep sleep feature.
Still, instead of waiting for apps to go inactive or manually putting them into deep sleep, it will do so for you if your device detects excessive notification ad spam.
This feature has been a blessing, since I’ve been getting more battery drain lately than not, and apps with notifications and ads that go out of control need to be silenced.
I enabled this feature and paired it with Private DNS on my Samsung Galaxy S25+ to get the best out of both worlds, but you can do this on any other Samsung phone (or Android phone for Private DNS).
