This is the Foxtron Cavira, a potential direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y built by a company that almost certainly built your iPhone.
The thing is, the name Foxtron may not ring a bell, but it should.
Partly because its parent company built nearly every iPhone and iPad over the last 10-15 years.
But also because, interestingly, it builds everyone else’s phones as well.
This new EV is a potential Tesla rival, but there’s a problem
The Cavira is an electric SUV that is available with a rear motor, with 359 miles of range and 249 horsepower, or with two motors.
This versions puts out 468 horsepower, with a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds, and offers up to 334 miles of range, which is Tesla Model Y territory.
Both versions have an 82.7 kWh battery, which charges from 10-80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

The interior follows a familiar EV theme with very few buttons in sight, minimalist design, and a massive screen.
In this case, the Foxtron Cavira comes with a vertically oriented, 15.6-inch display, which is actually quite uncommon as most EVs – and most cars in general – feature horizontal displays these days.

The price is also attractive: the Cavira has an MSRP just north of $38,000.
For now, the only problem is that this ideal Tesla rival is only available in Taiwan, and there’s no mention of a US launch in the near future.
Where have we heard about this before?
