Attention Facebook users: you could be getting another check as early as this week in connection with a years-old class-action settlement.

Less than one year after the first payments went out, more are on the way — but only to some recipients.

The second payments are slated to begin distribution on June 9, with payments going out in batches over a four-week period.

According to a website dedicated to the Facebook, Inc. Consumer Privacy User Profile Litigation settlement, the second checks are being sent out only to those who already cashed their initial payments.

“The second distribution was approved by the Court to redistribute uncashed funds from the initial distribution to settlement class members who successfully cashed their initial payment,” the website states.

Emails released Thursday told users they would receive a notice three to four days before their second payment is issued.

Some have received their notice already, with payments going out as early as Thursday.

The 2023 settlement was reached with Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc. following a lawsuit, which alleged Facebook made users’ data available to third parties without their permission and claimed the platform did not monitor or enforce third-party access to the data they received. The settlement was reached to “to avoid the costs and risks of a trial” and to allow settlement class members to receive payments, according to court documents. Meta denies all claims in the lawsuit and that it violated any law.

The first settlement checks were distributed in September 2025.
