The Mildred Milliman Radiation Medicine Center has reopened, providing radiation therapy to the region.
OLEAN, N.Y. — Olean General Hospital has reopened the Mildred Milliman Radiation Medicine Center, restoring radiation oncology services and introducing a new Varian TrueBeam 4.1 linear accelerator after months of renovation and investment.
The project modernized both the technology and the patient environment, pairing advanced treatment capabilities with a redesigned space focused on comfort, dignity and compassionate care.
Radiation therapy began this week using the new Varian TrueBeam 4.1 linear accelerator, a major upgrade at the center.

“This is an incredibly exciting moment for our team and our community,” said Roberta Truman, manager of radiation therapy. “The technology is remarkable, but so is the environment we’ve created for our patients.”
The Varian TrueBeam 4.1 delivers highly precise, efficient and personalized radiation treatments with improved accuracy and patient comfort.
Nearly every area of the center has been refreshed. Upgrades include a private waiting and changing area for women, a dedicated men’s dressing room, a private room for the Robes for Comfort program, new ceiling tiles and LED lighting, new flooring and updated wall colors, new cabinetry throughout clinical areas, a renovated nurses station and new artwork.
Radiation therapists, nurses and support staff have returned to support operations.
“Patients may see a completely transformed facility, but they’ll still find the same compassionate team dedicated to providing exceptional care close to home,” Truman said.
Radiation oncologists Dr. Chi Tsang and Dr. William Demas will provide onsite care.
