$200+ off/M5

The most affordable and accessible point of entry into the latest M5 MacBook Pro lineup is on sale right now. Amazon has the 16GB/1TB model down at the $1,499 all-time low ($200 off the list price) and B&H has this 24GB/512GB model Apple doesn’t sell anymore at the same price. Details below.

Apple got rid if the 512GB storage tier on the current-gen M5 MacBook Pro in March. This leaves the 16GB/1TB as the new entry point, but there are still some 512GB models floating around out there with some solid deals:

Amazon is currently offering the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and the new base 1TB storage capacity down at $1,499 shipped in Space Black. This is a regularly $1,699 machine that started life at $1,799 in late 2025 and is now sitting down at the lowest price we have ever tracked on Amazon.

B&H, however, still has some stock left on the 512GB models and is offering a configuration with 24GB of RAM at the same $1,499 shipped right now. Previous to Apple configuring the storage tiers on the M5 machines, this was a $1,799 machine.

I, as I have said many a time, much prefer to pay for the RAM over the storage, and this has me leaning towards the B&H offer. That said, Apple clearly thinks 512GB of storage is a thing of the past on the Pro machines, and I’m starting to as well.
