So if you’re using your phone and then open your tablet, you’ll see a taskbar suggestion to open the same app; selecting it will take you to the spot you left off on.

In a post about Continue On, Google said that the feature works in both directions, so there’s not just one main Android device ruling everything. Any Android device that has the feature will be able to send and receive app activities.

As an example in its post, Google showed how a Google Doc that is on a phone can be opened on a tablet to the exact same tab.

Handoff also works from an app to the web. Using Gmail as an example this time, an email thread in the Gmail app on a phone opens to Gmail on the web on a tablet.
