Google’s upcoming Gemini Intelligence features may remain limited to a very small group of Android smartphones. According to Google’s official system requirements, devices must include a flagship-grade chipset, Gemini Nano v3 support, at least 12 GB RAM, and long-term software commitments.

These requirements are far beyond what most upper mid-range phones currently offer. Even several recent premium devices, such as the Google Pixel 9 series or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, might fail to meet the full criteria, raising concerns that new Intelligence could become exclusive to ultra-premium Android models.

According to Google’s official requirements, supported devices must include Gemini Nano v3 or newer, Android AI Core integration, at least 12 GB RAM, a flagship-grade processor, advanced media capabilities, and long-term software support with five Android upgrades and six years of security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Google Pixel 10 lineup, and the OnePlus 15 series already meet the Gemini Nano v3 requirement. New foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are also expected to support the platform at launch, according to Sammy Guru.
