STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A months-long investigation into a stolen iPhone and a wave of fraudulent credit card charges ended Sunday with the arrest of a Stuart man.
Detectives with the Stuart Police Department say the investigation began in December of 2025 after a victim reported that his iCloud account had been compromised.
According to investigators, the breach led to multiple unauthorized purchases, including gift cards and other items.

As the investigation continued, detectives say the suspect, later identified as Jae’Veion Thorne, repeatedly used the victim’s personal information over the course of about a month to make additional purchases and gain access to financial accounts.
A warrant was issued for Thorne’s arrest as the case developed.
On May 17, Stuart Police were notified that the Martin County Sheriff’s Office had located and arrested Thorne.
Police found probable cause to book Thorne for five counts of fraudulent use of identification, petit theft, and theft of a credit card.
