Another step towards strengthening Amaravati’s quantum technology ecosystem

On the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the importance of secure communications, trusted digital infrastructure, and cyber resilience in shaping the future of nations, while announcing a major step towards strengthening Amaravati’s emerging quantum technology ecosystem.
In a post on X on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that following the launch of the Quantum Computing Reference Facilities on April 14, Amaravati Quantum Valley was now moving ahead with another landmark initiative aimed at building a world-class quantum ecosystem, driven by innovation, research, and indigenous technology development.
As part of this effort, SRM University-A.P., in collaboration with C-DOT, the Department of Telecommunications under the Government of India, and Amaravati Quantum Valley, would establish a first-of-its-kind Quantum-Secure Communications Test Bed focused on secure communications and cyberspace technologies.
According to the Chief Minister, the facility will serve as a major research and testing platform for advanced quantum communication hardware, photonic and optical systems, encryption technologies, secure network infrastructure, and next-generation cyber defence solutions.
“The initiative reflects Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to promoting Make in India technologies and creating highly secure digital infrastructure, while positioning Amaravati as a leading destination for frontier technologies, advanced manufacturing, and deep-tech innovation,” Mr. Naidu said.
