A technology donation in Anchorage is helping connect students with the tools they need to succeed.

AT&T and Camp Fire Alaska provided 100 refurbished laptops for distribution to Anchorage students in need. Officials say the donation is aimed at expanding access to technology, supporting digital literacy, and helping bridge the digital divide in the community.

The event was held at Camp Fire Alaska’s offices in Anchorage and included families and youth participants in a celebration designed to recognize and empower students.

Camp Fire Alaska President and CEO Mel Hooper says the free laptops help reduce barriers for families by giving students access to schoolwork, community resources, and important information.

The donation was made possible through AT&T’s support of Absolutely Incredible Kid Day, an annual national initiative founded by Camp Fire that encourages adults to remind children and teens that they matter.

This year, AT&T says it partnered with Camp Fire to provide 2,500 laptops to students nationwide through the program. Officials also say more than 500 computers have been distributed to students and families across Alaska since 2021.
