ROGUE VALLEY, Ore. – Rogue Community College is beginning construction on two new transportation technology centers.
In White City Tuesday, a groundbreaking event was held for the newest addition to RCC’s growing career and technical educations program.
The Table Rock facility will include expanded automotive and diesel training capacity. It offers expanded hands on opportunities, and will be designed to mirror real world industry environments. There will also be a strong focus on emerging transportation technologies such as electric and hybrid vehicles.
RCC President Randy Weber says CTE programs at RCC have seen significant enrollment increases over the years.
“This project specifically is really going to allow us to both expand the curriculum to meet needs in the industry that aren’t met today,” Weber said. “As well as be able to provide more access to education, to more students. In Programs like transportation, we know that there’s a high demand 60 to 100 jobs a year, and that they’re going to enter the workforce at a family sustaining wage. And so that’s really powerful information to have as we think about making significant capital investments like this.”
The Redwood campus groundbreaking will take place May 7 in Grants Pass at 10 a.m.
Construction will begin this summer at both locations, with courses expected for fall of 2027.
