It’s been a while since we last heard about T-Mobile’s T-Satellite service. Although it might not be the most popular feature the carrier offers, it’s nice knowing there’s a safety net for communication available when needed. With that said, we’re getting news that the coverage is now expanding, with T-Mobile customers getting satellite coverage while in Canada and New Zealand thanks to support from carriers Rogers and One NZ.

The news comes from the Mobile Internet Resource Center sharing that Rogers in Canada and One NZ in New Zealand will be providing support for T-Mobile’s satellite service in their respective regions (via Android Authority). The news outlet also reports that Rogers and One NZ customers visiting the US will also gain satellite coverage as well.
This reciprocal service will be supported by T-Mobile’s network while travelers from abroad are in the US. It’s probably a feature you don’t use every day, but T-Mobile’s satellite coverage is something good to have if you’re ever in an area that has less-than-ideal coverage. Plus, if you’re in the US, you can access popular apps to stay connected beyond standard texts.
