President Donald Trump has insisted some media outlets should face “charges for treason” in his latest social media post criticizing journalists.

In a Truth Social update shared on Sunday, March 15, Trump, 79, accused Iran of “long [being] known as a Master of Media Manipulation and Public Relations” amid the ongoing war with the country. He also alleged Iran had been using artificial intelligence (AI) to spread misinformation.

“They are Militarily ineffective and weak, but are really good at ‘feeding’ the very appreciative Fake News Media false information,” the president wrote. “Now, A.I. has become another Disinformation weapon that Iran uses, quite well, considering they are being annihilated by the day.”

Trump added, “They showed phony ‘Kamikaze Boats,’ shooting at various Ships at Sea, which looks wonderful, powerful, and vicious, but these Boats don’t exist — It’s all false information to show how ‘tough’ their already defeated Military is!”

In his post, the president criticized The Wall Street Journal, which reported five Air Force refueling planes were struck and damaged during a missile strike at Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia. He also claimed reports about the USS Abraham Lincoln being on fire were fake.
