Purdue University researchers Vaneet Aggarwal, Dipesh Tamboli and Vineet Punyamoorty have developed a patent-pending system for editing and sharing personal pictures on AI editing platforms without exposing identity.
The system allows users to mask parts of a photo, sending only masked regions to the AI software.
The system prioritizes full privacy, high quality edits, compatibility and photorealism, according to a Purdue news article.
They are currently seeking a patent.
You can read their research in the peer-reviewed journal IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence.
