AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Local students got hands-on experience with cyber skills and digital safety education on Saturday to help prepare them for their futures.
The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center at Augusta University held the ‘Cyber Saturday’ event Saturday morning.
Students in fifth through 10th grade were able to explore different cybersecurity pathways.
There was a live escape room, a capture the flag competition and two interactive learning sessions.
Leaders said this is all to help fill in the gaps of the cybersecurity workforce.
“They are learning from cyphers to networking to the security aspects to the coding fees to expose them to all of that to see where they can find their passion and hopefully pursue this as a career,” Eric Toler, executive director at Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center.
