Women’s Lacrosse Wins Third Straight As Macintosh Enjoys Career Day; Dawgs Down Wagner at UMBC Stadium

BALTIMORE – UMBC improved to 4-1 on the season, defeating Wagner 12-5 on Saturday afternoon at UMBC Stadium. The Retrievers scored the final eight goals of the contest to come away victorious. Sophomore attacker Reese Macintosh enjoyed a career day as she scored three goals and added three assists.
The Retrievers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the opening 15 minutes, getting goals from Macintosh, Lizzie Bateman, and Tess Curtis.
Wagner battled back in the second period, scoring three straight goals to tie the contest at 3-3 with 6:30 left in the opening half before Emily Knapp’s first goal of the contest gave UMBC a 4-3 halftime lead.
The Seahawks would score the first two goals of the second half, pulling ahead 5-4 with 12:30 on the third quarter clock, but Knapp quickly knotted things back up at 5-5 with her second goal of the game. UMBC took the lead for good with 4:29 left in the third, as Knapp completed her hat trick. Macintosh followed less than a minute later with a free-position goal to push the Retrievers ahead 7-5.
The momentum kept rolling for the Retrievers in the fourth, as they outscored Wagner 5-0 to finish off the 12-5 victory. Annika Wray got on the board with her fourth goal of the season to make it 8-5 in favor of UMBC. Olivia Worden and Mya Stewart-Parsons joined Wray with goals before Wray’s second of the quarter made it 11-5 with 5:42 to play.
Knapp has continued her torrid pace to start the 2026 season, scoring three more goals to give her 22 in five games this season. Knapp has scored at least three goals in every game this season.
