Apple CEO Tim Cook took to X on February 26, teasing a major product launch, and shared a short video of hands interacting with what appears to be an Apple device. This particular post hasn’t been greeted positively. Before Cook’s post, Bloomberg reported that the company is developing a touch-screen MacBook Pro with an OLED display, a Dynamic Island cutout, and a redesigned macOS interface optimized for touch. The response was pretty abrupt. Developer and tech creator Dorian Develops clearly disapproved of the idea on X, saying no one would want a device like that.
If we go back in time, the company itself abandoned the Touch Bar because it wasn’t well-received, and it also dismissed vertical touchscreens at one point.
