Why I want one-tap terminal commands on my phone
The idea came from an annoying experience with my friends. Some of my “Windows” friends are genuinely fascinated with my Linux PC and love tinkering with it to understand why I daily drive it instead of something “normal.” I don’t mind encouraging their curiosity—but a few of them get too comfortable and start browsing through my personal files and important documents.
Yes, I know this is technically a problem of setting boundaries. But like most techies, I prefer to solve my problems with tech. So I wanted to build a system where I could remotely lock my PC or kill an active window with a single tap. If only there were a way to press a button on my phone and stop my friends from poking around my personal stuff. That’s how the obsession started.
The use cases that followed
Once I started thinking about it, the possibilities quickly piled up. For example, you could flip the script and prank your friends when they use your Linux PC. You might remotely trigger a hacker-looking command like cmatrix, and suddenly, a terminal window appears with Matrix-style falling code. It makes for a cool, harmless prank.
