If you’re the programmer who is no longer employed, that isn’t very cool. But if you are the guy who is using Claude Code to make tens of thousands of dollars a month, wow! Nice.

But it isn’t just computer code (AI) that is writing computer code. AI systems are also working in the legal world. There are already AI systems designed to work with lawyers, doing some of the heavy lifting and all the simple tasks.

AI could write your next will or other legal document, and a lawyer would just review the document. Do you think that lawyers will be cheaper? Not until you can do the whole thing without the lawyer. Can you imagine a world without lawyers? How peaceful! All I see are blue skies and green grass!

You’re probably thinking people who work with their hands are safe. Maybe not.

This weekend, I had an engine problem on an old truck. I took a few minutes to type a detailed description of the problem. Within seconds, AI told me what the problem was, what I needed to do to fix it, which parts to purchase, and what to expect to pay for the parts.

The only thing I need to do is buy the parts and install them, all of which are straightforward if you have the skills and tools. Of course, many people do not have the time or desire to do their own mechanical work, so they will still utilize mechanics. This is just one more example of how AI can change the workforce.

For my fans, do not fret! I am not going anywhere. No AI available today can outwit me, nor can a computer be more logical. Until that happens, you will see my great columns right here, entertaining and informing.
