Despite Weibo tipster Fixed-focus digital cameras commenting that Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max chipsets will launch in March, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has yet to provide a month in which the refreshed MacBook Pro family will arrive. Thankfully, in the latest free version of the ‘Power On’ newsletter, we learn that these machines are scheduled to arrive when macOS 26.3 will be publicly available to download and install. For those who don’t know, Apple released its third developer beta for version 26.3 late last month.
The technology giant is also expected to unveil the M6, its first 2nm SoC for Macs, later this year, and sooner than expected, so it was previously assumed that Apple would announce the M5 Pro and M5 Max in January because the M2 Pro and M2 Max arrived in the same month, followed by the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max in October. According to MacRumors, macOS 26.3 is currently in beta testing, but the update could be released to the public in February, making it a whole month before Fixed-focus digital cameras’ prediction.
