JCC cybersecurity competitors dominate Metlife Invitational …

CARY — Members of the Johnston Community College Cybersecurity Competition Team competed Tuesday, June 2, in the MetLife Summer Cyber Invitational live fire exercise at the MetLife Global Technology Campus.
The competition featured a simulated cyberattack in which teams were required to identify, analyze, contain and restore operations. It marked the first competitive appearance for the JCC team.
Team manager Todd Retzlaff, who holds associate degrees in information technology and cybersecurity from JCC, led the team. Team members Flynn Loomis and Jhordan Sargeant, recent JCC graduates and cybersecurity interns, also competed.
Loomis placed first in the competition, and Sargeant placed second.
