Acer has announced a new tablet in China, and based on its specs and design, it feels like a device that should have been released a decade ago. The tablet, which is called the Acer A312 Pad, also has a pretty low price tag to match. So it should suffice as a cheap tablet for kids or for reading and watching videos.
The Acer A312 Pad has pretty thick bezels surrounding its 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display. The screen has a 60Hz refresh rate and support for 10-point multi-touch. Powering it is the 6-year old 12nm MediaTek MT8768 processor a.k.a. the Helio P22T and it is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There’s a microSD card slot, but the maximum capacity supported is a measly 128GB.
The Acer A312 Pad is powered by an old MediaTek chipset.
There is a 5MP camera on both sides of the tablet, and the rear camera even has an LED flash. It also has Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, stereo speakers, and a 5,000mAh battery. There’s no mention of the version of Android it is running, but its weight is given as 570g while its thickness is 9.8mm.
The Acer A312 Pad has a price tag of CNY 525 (~$78/€67), but discounts in select regions bring the price down to CNY 499 (~$74/€63).
