How to watch The Android Show I/O Edition tomorrow

If you’re excited to watch Google I/O next week to see all the new Gemini features we’re expecting to be showcased, we have another smaller event you might be interested in. Called The Android Show I/O Edition, it takes place just one week before Google I/O and will focus more on Android specifics. That could include new hardware or Android XR news, but Google hasn’t officially given any hints about what might be announced.

At the event last year, Google announced Material 3 Expressive to give the OS a more playful vibe. It also expanded Gemini to more areas like Wear OS, Google TV and Android Auto. Additionally, Android received new security features for things like detecting spam texts and calls, as well as a new Key Verifier tool to make sure you’re talking to the right person. Google also announced Find Hub, which is designed to track your Android devices and other accessories.

The Android Show I/O Edition kicks off tomorrow, May 12 at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT). This is exactly one week before the larger Google I/O event on May 19.
