Rumours about Apple launching a foldable iPhone have circulated for years, and new leaks suggest the company could finally unveil the device later this year, possibly alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. While it has commonly been referred to as the “iPhone Fold,” a new report from China claims Apple may instead brand it as the iPhone Ultra, positioning it above the Pro Max models as the most premium device in the lineup.

The same leak suggests Apple could expand the Ultra branding across several product categories, including AirPods Ultra and a MacBook Ultra. Pricing details remain uncertain, but early estimates indicate the foldable iPhone could start above CNY 10,000 (around Rs 1.33 lakh) and go beyond CNY 20,000 (around Rs 2.6 lakh) for higher-end variants, potentially making it Apple’s most expensive smartphone yet.

New CAD-based renders shared by tipster Sonny Dickson offer a fresh look at Apple’s rumoured foldable iPhone design. The device appears to adopt a book-style foldable form factor similar to the first-generation Google Pixel Fold, featuring a wider cover display rather than the tall and narrow outer screens seen on devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5.
Leaks suggest the phone could include a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch foldable inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, which may make it better suited for reading, browsing, and multitasking. While the foldable display could still show a crease, reports indicate Apple is working to make it less noticeable. The renders also point to a dual 48MP rear camera setup with an LED flash, while both the inner and outer selfie cameras may use punch-hole cutouts and offer around 18MP resolution.
