ZEISS will present concepts based on its ProSight technology platform at Farnborough International Airshow, demonstrating how holographic and micro-optical systems could be applied to aircraft cabins and cockpits.<\/p>\n

The showcase follows ZEISS\u2019 first major industry engagement at the Passenger Experience Conference earlier this year, and centers on the company\u2019s transparent display and next-generation Head-Up Display (HUD) technologies. ZEISS is a supplier of optics and optoelectronics technology, known for its camera lenses as well as systems for industrial metrology, medical technology and lithography optics.<\/p>\n

ZEISS\u2019 transparent display systems integrate digital information directly into transparent cabin surfaces, embedding flight information, entertainment content and passenger interaction into aircraft interiors without additional physical screens or mechanical components. The company said the technology is intended to support lightweight, space-efficient aircraft design.<\/p>\n

ZEISS\u2019 Wide Field of View HUD concepts are designed to project critical flight and navigation information directly into the pilot\u2019s forward field of vision, intended to help pilots keep their focus outside the cockpit rather than looking down at instruments. Powered by the ProSight platform, the system is designed to remove the need for the bulky projector architecture used in traditional HUDs, in what the company said is a lighter, more compact solution with a wider field of view and reduced cockpit integration complexity and energy consumption.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are bringing this optical expertise, together with decades of experience in holography and micro-optics, to aerospace applications for the next generation of aircraft platforms,\u201d said Dennis Lehr, head of ZEISS Microoptics Aerospace.<\/p>\n
