A Bondi Blue iMac G3 reconstruction impressed fans and reached review, but LEGO paused final approval, leaving hopes tied to LEGO\u2019s talks with Apple.<\/p>\n

LEGO today announced that the iMac G3 project, submitted on the LEGO Ideas site, has been moved to Parking Lot status. This means the idea has not been rejected yet and could potentially be turned into an official LEGO set.<\/p>\n

On the LEGO Ideas platform, fans can submit mock-ups and proposals for future sets. Any project that earns at least 10,000 votes will move to the LEGO Review Board and has a chance to become part of the lineup. In August 2025, a LEGO fan going by the nickname terauma presented a reconstruction of Apple\u2019s iMac G3 from 1998 in Bondi Blue.<\/p>\n

The description of the design captures the distinctive look of the iMac G3: a monoblock with a disc-shaped mouse, a matching keyboard, and cables. Transparent blue LEGO pieces, close to Bondi Blue, were used, and inside are elements that resemble a cathode-ray tube and a printed circuit board.<\/p>\n

The project successfully reached 10,000 supporters and was forwarded to the LEGO Ideas team for further consideration, after which LEGO explored the possibility of turning it into a set. Parking Lot status means the company needs more time for review and may be negotiating with Apple for permission to use the brand.<\/p>\n

Many Ideas proposals face early rejection, so there is still hope: LEGO is considering the iMac G3 as a potential set. In prior Parking Lot experiences there are examples of transitions to production: Downton Abbey and The Old Man and the Sea also spent a long time in a similar status before making it to release.<\/p>\n

In the third evaluation round of 2025 there were 75 worthy ideas. Three of them were selected for production, four \u2013 including the iMac G3 \u2013 received Parking Lot for further consideration, and the rest were rejected. Projects can remain in Parking Lot for up to three rounds of review, after which a final decision is made.<\/p>\n
