Ask industrial CEOs what worries them most, and the answer is not artificial intelligence. It\u2019s turbulence\u2014regulatory changes, geopolitical conflict, and recession risks. In Bain\u2019s 2026 CEO Survey, AI and cybersecurity barely made the list of top concerns for industrial CEOs, cited as a top-three threat by only 5% and 10%, respectively.<\/p>\n

Industrial CEOs are betting AI can improve performance<\/h3>\n

But the fact that they\u2019re not worrying about it doesn\u2019t mean industrial\u00a0CEOs don\u2019t care about AI. They just see it differently:\u00a086%<\/strong>\u00a0of industrial\u00a0<\/strong>CEOs are prioritizing AI for near-term cost reduction and productivity improvement.\u00a0<\/strong>AI is less a discrete external threat than an execution challenge inside the business to make it more competitive.
