{"id":286694,"date":"2026-07-07T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news-you-need.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/07\/government-launches-cyber-resilience-pledge-claiming-60-signatories\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T06:35:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T10:35:08","slug":"government-launches-cyber-resilience-pledge-claiming-60-signatories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news-you-need.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/07\/government-launches-cyber-resilience-pledge-claiming-60-signatories\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Launches Cyber Resilience Pledge, Claiming 60+ Signatories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.infosecurity-magazine.com\/news\/uk-gov-launches-cyber-resilience\/\">Government Launches Cyber Resilience Pledge, Claiming 60+ Signatories<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.infosecurity-magazine.com\/news\/uk-gov-launches-cyber-resilience\/\">https:\/\/www.infosecurity-magazine.com\/news\/uk-gov-launches-cyber-resilience\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Publish Date: <a href=\"publish_date]\">2026-07-07 06:00:00<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Source Domain: <a href=\"www.infosecurity-magazine.com\">www.infosecurity-magazine.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The UK government has claimed over 60 businesses have signed up to a new initiative designed to improve the cyber resilience of British organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The Cyber Resilience Pledge was first trailed at the government\u2019s CYBERUK conference in Glasgow in April, alongside a \u00a390m ($120m) cash injection.<\/p>\n<p>Signatories now include Marks &#038; Spencer, Nationwide, ITV, Microsoft UK, Cloudflare, Deloitte\u00a0LLP, Accenture\u00a0UK and\u00a0Vodafone Group, the government claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Read more:\u00a0UK Cybersecurity Market Expands to \u00a314.7bn with Strong Growth in AI Security Firms<\/p>\n<p>The voluntary scheme requires signatories to commit to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making cybersecurity a board-level responsibility, by implementing the Cyber Governance Code of Practice and ensuring all members complete the\u00a0NCSC\u2019s Cyber Governance Training<\/li>\n<li>Registering for the\u00a0NCSC\u2019s free Early Warning alert service<\/li>\n<li>Taking a \u201crisk-based approach\u201d to requiring Cyber Essentials certification across their supply chain\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The pledge is designed mainly for medium and large organizations. However, the hope is that they will be able to improve baseline security posture across a much larger swathe of businesses by forcing suppliers to sign up to Cyber Essentials.<\/p>\n<p>Whether that actually happens has yet to be seen.
